Get ready to laugh until you’re clutching at your last bit of breath. Imagine a person with the energy level of a bunch of kindergartners hopped up on candy, the attention span of a chicken nugget, the sense of humor of a fifth-grade boy and the intelligence of an Southern Illinois University graduate, and you're somewhere in the ballpark of describing Amber Klear.
After graduating from SIU, Amber was like many 20-something college grads–seeking the job that would justify the years of studying and mountain of debt accrued from earning two college degrees. It didn’t take long for the stress of this new job to cause a blood clot in her brain.
Klear quickly decided this life wasn’t all it was cracked up to be and traded it all in for a chance to follow her dreams. She started by donning some leather and hopping on a motorcycle for a cross-country road trip. After her journey, Amber settled in the Midwest where a series of odd experiences have become excellent fodder for a comedy routine sure to make you howl with laughter.
She can’t wait to tell you all about her experiences with biker gangs and swimming with sharks and other hilarious stories that have made each new gig more prestigious than her last.
With two college degrees and a professional ten-year sales background, why wouldn't she be excelling at stand up? A man once told her that she had a beautiful smile. She replied with, “Only because I’m around you,” and that’s when a five-year-old bomb of cuteness and coolness hit her with a wink and “Play on, Playa.” She knew she had to spend the rest of her life trying to emulate that little dude’s level of coolness. She recently found out that she was a celebrity when she was asked to be the celebrity judge in a chili cook-off in Decatur, IL (the Hollywood of the Midwest). When not comedy-ing, she spends her time on her motorcycles or kayaking. She’s ridden her motorcycle across the United States. So, follow her home. Or on Facebook. You should probably use facebook. Amber is like a unicorn that's ridden the rainbow. She's holding onto the fact that she once won a childhood hair contest and a small-town comedy competition. Like most twenty-somethings, she regularly attends both church BINGO and Chuck E. Cheese events. She was lucky enough to open (twice!) for Sammy Obeid on his record-breaking 1,001 Nights of Comedy Tour.
